United Chamber of Commerce names firm "Outstanding Business of the Year"


Franklin-Medfield-The law firm of Doherty, Ciechanowski, Dugan and Cannon, P.C. has been named the "Outstanding Business of the Year" by the United Chamber of Commerce. The firm has offices in both Franklin and Medfield and provides a broad range of legal services to local businesses and individuals, including probate and family law matters, real estate, business and corporate law, litigation in all courts and estate planning. The Firm's philosophy is to provide its clients with the highest quality of work at a reasonable cost. Clients receive personal attention from the Firm's eight lawyers, including the founding partners who focus their attention and experience on each case at the outset to find the fastest and most effective means to achieve the clients' goals and objectives. The Firm's attorneys are:

Michael P. Doherty of Franklin: Mr. Doherty is a cum laude 1987 graduate of Boston College Law School. Mr. Doherty concentrates his practice in the area of representing businesses and individuals in business, litigation and family law matters. In 2000, and again in 2001, Mr. Doherty was named the chairman of the Massachusetts Bar Association Probate Litigation Practice Group. In 2004, Mr. Doherty was named a "Super Lawyer" by Boston Magazine, a distinction bestowed upon the top 5% of attorneys by a survey of attorneys.

Craig A. Ciechanowski of Walpole: Mr. Ciechanowski is a suma cum laude 1984 graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He concentrates his practice in the areas of land use and development, transactional matters, and general corporate matters. Mr. Ciechanowski frequently represents clients before municipal and state boards in connection with the development of complex real estate projects including multi-use commercial buildings, retail centers, office buildings and industrial warehouse facilities.

John G. Dugan of Millis: Mr. Dugan is a 1972 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and a 1975 graduate of Suffolk University School of Law. He has been engaged in the practice of law for nearly thirty years and concentrates his practice in the areas of probate and family law. In 1999, Mr. Dugan was awarded the Outstanding Service Award by South Middlesex Legal Services, Inc.

Edward V. Cannon of Norfolk: Mr. Cannon is a 1986 graduate of Union College and a 1992 graduate of New England School of Law. He concentrates his practice in the representation of individuals and mortgage lenders in residential real estate matters as well as developers in planning, zoning, subdivision, and other municipal land use matters. Mr. Cannon is an approved agent and title examiner for two national title companies.

Peter J. Paulousky: Mr. Paulousky is a 1992 cum laude graduate of New England School of Law, a 1978 suma cum laude graduate of Bryant College, and received his MBA from Bryant School of Business in 1984. Mr. Paulousky practices in the areas of litigation, representing companies and individuals in complex matters. He also represents individuals in criminal law, divorce proceedings and probate litigation. Mr. Paulousky, who is licensed to practice in both Massachusetts and Florida, is a former State’s Attorney in Dade County Florida and as Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

John A. Murphy: Mr. Murphy is a 1992 graduate of Boston University and a 2002 graduate of Suffolk University School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Murphy was a Project Manager, Regional Manager, and Director of Operations for LIDS Corporation, a successful retail chain with over 300 stores nationwide.

Michelle M. Raymond: Ms. Raymond is a cum laude graduate of the Boston University School of Law and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Florida. Ms. Raymond concentrates her practice in the areas of family and probate litigation and mediation. She received the Honorable Albert P. Pettoruto Memorial Award in 1998 for excellence in family law.
