Franklin High School Mock Trial Team Undefeated

Congratulations to the Franklin High School Mock Trial Team coached by Franklin High School teacher Michael Walsh.  Attorneys Michael  Doherty, Peter Paulousky and Lori Drayton helped coach the team this year.  The team is undefeated in the Massachusetts Bar Association Mock Trial completion which began with over 140 teams.

On Thursday, March 7, 2013, the team will participate in the ‘Sweet 16’ competition at the Framingham District Court in Framingham, Massachusetts.

See Jane? Not as much in children’s media as you might think

Congrats to our client, Hero 4 Hire Creative, LLC an animation and production company based in Newton, for their recent write up in boston.com.  They were featured for producing an animated public service announcement for SeeJane.org, a campaign founded by Geena Davis to improve gender portrayals in children’s media.  The boston.com article is titled See Jane? Not as much in children’s media as you might think, and the public service announcement video can be viewed here.

New Franklin High School Groundbreaking

On Saturday, October 13, 2012, Attorneys Michael P. Doherty and Jennifer D. Taddeo were invited to participate in the groundbreaking for the new Franklin High School.    Both attorneys were active in local efforts to build support for the high school building project across our community.  Students are expected to begin attending the new school in the Fall of 2014.

Attorney Steven Weil Rides in Pan-Massachusetts Challenge

On August 4th and 5th, Attorney Steven Weil will ride 192 miles from Bourne to Provincetown in the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge (the “PMC”). The PMC is an annual bike-a-thon whose mission is to raise monies for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. Since its founding in 1980, the PMC has raised $338 million toward the prevention and treatment of cancer.

Attorney Steven Weil Appointed to JF&CS Board of Directors

Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS) has appointed Attorney Steven Weil to a 2-year term on its Board of Directors. JF&CS is one of the leading human service providers in the Greater Boston area. With a staff of 700 employees, JF&CS serves 100 communities by providing programs and services for new mothers, young families, people with disabilities, fragile elders and the chronically poor.

Attorney Michael Doherty is chairman for Citizens for New Franklin High School. “Our theme really is, the need is real and the time is right,” said Michael Doherty, “With the citizens only paying $47 million of that price tag, at a time when construction costs are low, at a time when interest rates are low, we think this is the right time.”

United Regional Chamber of Commerce Hosts ‘Taste of the Region’

October 24, 2011 – Attorneys Doherty, Ciechanowski and Cannon will attend  ‘Taste of the Region” sponsored by the United Regional Chamber of Commerce on October 25, 2011 at the Tri-County Regional Voc. Tech High School in Franklin, MA.  This food festival will feature up to twenty restaurants serving sample dishes.  There will also be music and a silent auction.

October 20, 2011 – Doherty, Ciechanowski, Dugan & Cannon will be at Christina’s on Route One in Foxboro, MA this Thursday October 20th from 3-7pm for the MegaBusiness Expo 2011. This event is sponsored by the Tri-Town, Neponset Valley and Milford Area Chamber of Commerce. Come by our booth and enter into our drawing for an Apple iPad.

Christmas in July

July 28, 2011 – Attorney Michael Doherty and Ted Cannon attended the ‘Christmas in July’ event at the Hampton Inn sponsored by the United Regional Chamber of Commerce.  Michael and Ted saw many clients and many local business leaders and enjoyed sharing ‘Christmas in July’ with them.

Michael Pepin passes away after fighting Lymphoma

July 30, 2011 – Attorney Jennifer D. Taddeo is on the organizing committee for the Brigham & Women’s Hospital Blood Drive at the Bernon Family Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA in honor of Michael Pepin, a 38-year-old resident of Franklin who passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011, after fighting a rare type of Lymphoma since February.

Grand slam in North 24-hour game draws hundreds of players

June 30, 2011 – Attorney Michelle Raymond and her family participated in the North Attleboro Little League’s first-ever 24-hour baseball game kicked off at Mason Field.

NORTH ATTLEBORO — Teams were suited up and ready to go Saturday morning, as Little North Attleboro League’s first-ever 24-hour baseball game kicked off at Mason Field.

Around 900 youngsters representing 60 baseball and softball teams participated in the marathon game, which began at 11 a.m. Saturday, and was to continue through 11 a.m. today.

“It’s been going pretty good so far. We’ve got good participation and everyone seems excited about it,” Brian Hogan, vice president of the Little North Attleboro League said.

Blood and Marrow Drive for Michael Pepin

May 14, 2011 – Attorney Jennifer D. Taddeo is on the organizing committee for the May 14th Blood and Bone Marrow Drive in support of Michael Pepin, a 38-year-old resident of Franklin who has been diagnosed with a rare type of Lymphoma. Currently he is enduring a very aggressive chemotherapy treatment and will need a Bone Marrow Transplant within the next few months.
