Steven D. Weil
Steven D. Weil has practiced for over twenty years, representing businesses and individuals in commercial and residential real estate transactions, general civil litigation, and domestic relations cases. He handles a wide range of real estate matters for restaurants, retailers, real estate developers, property owners and managers, as well as individual buyers and sellers. These matters include acquisitions, sales, leasing, landlord/tenant, zoning, permitting and the litigation of real estate and land use disputes.
Mr. Weil's family law practice includes the representation of husbands, wives and children in a full range of divorce and other domestic relations matters before the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. He is an experienced trial attorney who served as a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court and has appeared in the Massachusetts Superior Court, Probate and Family Court, Land Court, District Court and Housing Court.
Mr. Weil is a 1982 graduate of Union College and a 1986 graduate with honors of Boston University School of Law. Before joining Doherty, Ciechanowski, Dugan & Cannon, P.C., he worked as a staff attorney at South Middlesex Legal Services and then spent 18 years working for private law firms in downtown Boston.
Mr. Weil is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Family Law Section. He is also a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board's Rental Housing Association. He is certified to handle both trials and appeals in care and protection and parental termination cases for the Committee for Public Counsel Services Children and Family Law Program. He serves on the Advisory Committee for Jewish Family & Children's Services Bet Tzedek pro bono legal services program. He is a past president of Temple Beth David in Westwood, Massachusetts.
